What you give us

Two places on this site ask you for something. The journal asks for a first name and an email address, then lets you write an entry. The signup asks for a name, an email address, and the city and state you are in. Everything else on the site you can read and watch without telling us anything.

Where it goes

At the moment, nowhere. What you type is saved in your own browser, on your own device, using a feature called local storage. It is not sent to us, and it is not sent to anyone else. If you clear your browsing data, it is gone, including from us, because we never had a copy.

We intend to change this, so that entries and signups actually reach her. When that happens this page will be updated first, and it will name the service that receives them.

Remembering you

If you finish a journal entry, the site keeps your first name and email address in that same browser storage so it does not ask you for them again next time. That is the only reason it is kept. You can clear it from the journal itself by choosing to write as someone else, or by clearing your browsing data.

We do not use advertising cookies, and there are no tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or third party tags on this site.

What the site does on its own

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records technical information when a page is requested, including IP address, browser type and the page requested, and uses it to serve the site and protect it from abuse. That happens whether or not you type anything. Vercel’s own privacy policy governs that data.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.

Leaving the site

Links to streaming services, YouTube and ticketing take you to sites we do not run. Once you are there, their privacy policies apply, not this one. We do not pass anything about you to them.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask them for personal information. If you believe a child has given us something, write to us and we will remove it.

Your choices

Because the information is on your device, you can remove it yourself at any time by clearing your browsing data for this site. Once entries are being sent to us, you will also be able to ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and this page will say how.

Changes

If this changes, we will change this page and update the date at the top. Meaningful changes to what we collect or who receives it will be described here, not buried.
